Anybody interested in workshops related to wild edibles?

I was recently asked by a Quadra Life member if I would consider doing a workshop related to wild edibles / medicinals in the local area.

I’d actually enjoy doing this as I have had several years experience teaching & love this particular subject. I also feel it’s an incredibly important skill for everyone to have as it helps us to stay healthy, and allows us to avoid unnecessary trips to the doctor, which usually end with having a prescription written, also often unnecessary. Important during times of crisis as well, when grocery stores are not an option.

I’ve asked a few people directly already, and there seems to be some serious interest.

Can I get some feedback regarding who else might be interested so that I have an approximate number to work around? This may determine where I hold workshops, as well as when, and perhaps splitting groups into different skill / knowledge levels.

You can respond here or DM me (you’ll need to connect with me via my Quadra Life profile in order to DM me). Please include information regarding your personal skill level. Do you already have experience identifying, gathering & preparing wild edibles? Or are you a beginner? What are you most interested in learning (edibles? medicinals? preparation? hobby-level interest? other?)

There are also the related subjects of turning many wild edibles into medicinal products for home use, such as decoctions, infusions, tinctures, oil infusions, salves, liniments, infused vinegars etc, which might be some good additional workshops closer to the fall season. If anyone is interested in these subjects as well, please let me know.

Blessings, health & peace to all ❤

Hi Ann 🙂 Would you mind asking them to give me a call? Feel free to share my phone number with anyone you feel is trustworthy. I trust your judgement 🙂

      Enjoy your evening!

Hi Silvia 🙂 I have written you both down since speaking to you, thanks for confirming. Is the woman who works with you also part of the Quadra Life group? She seemed to be quite interested as well.

      Enjoy the sun today!

Yes, Martina is a member of Quadra life but I don’t think she has been active. I can pass on the information to her once you decide on a date and time for your workshop 🙂

I have been putting information together over the past several days, deciding what would be easiest for people to begin with, especially things which can be found in many people’s yards & gardens. I think that’s probably the best place to start from because there is so much information that people could become overwhelmed, and then give up. I’d like to keep it fun, as well as informative, and absolutely safe.

I will keep you all updated. Enjoy your evening 🙂

Thank you for the heads-up, Suzanne 🙂 I’ve added you to the list as of now. You are #13. I think I will keep it to a maximum of 20, then see how that goes.

We will start with very simple, easily accessible & easily identifiable plants, then go from there. This will definitely be an ongoing workshop due to the changes of the seasons, differences in experience levels with everyone, as well as teaching people how to use their plants. Some are edible, some medicinal, and often they are both 🙂

I’ve added them to my list, thanks very much Ann 🙂 We’ve now got 15 people. I will cut it off at 20, if we get there, to keep things manageable.

For all who are interested in this workshop, please note that you will need the following:

      • camera (I would suggest a dedicated point & shoot, rather than the camera on your cell phone, to minimize distractions)

      • notebook

      • pen

      • lunch / drinks / snacks (personal only)

I will be supplying a ‘recommended foraging equipment’ list, a ‘recommended reading’ list, a ‘recommended websites’ list, a ‘recommended YouTube channels’ list, along with other printables for specific plants included in the workshop.

I appreciate everyone’s patience, thank you. I am working on putting this together between my work schedule, gardening etc, so doing my best to get this happening ASAP ❤

I am down as well, and can lend my knowledge as well. Nature provides.

That would be great 🙂 You’re welcome to share your knowledge, for sure. I think you come from a more formal educational background, where I come from a more ancestral experiential background, using plants for a lot of traditional medicines as well as foods.

I’m putting together some basic info for people to take home, hoping they will continue to do more research as they have time. Nature most definitely provides absolutely everything we need, despite the fact that we have been indoctrinated to fear Her & Her creations.
